I'm very excited to share that the music video for "Nightcap Darling" is live on YouTube and other video streaming platforms as of 7:00 PM PST tonight.

In my previous post I had talked about the role of community and…

I often preach about the importance of human connection and community in an increasingly schizoid society. I’ve done it on here, and in person just the same.

Last Sunday (and Monday AM) we, as a community, did something pretty connecting…

Happy to share my latest single “Nightcap Darling” is available to stream on most streaming platforms as well as download here at raybaron.com, or on raybaron.bandcamp.com.

This song had a bit of a journey as it was recorded in…

I'm excited to announce my next upcoming single release: "Nightcap Darling," a tune that I've been slinging around at acoustic sets for the past year and a half or so.

It features some really great artists from the Seattle region…

I don't consider myself to be a dismal person, nor would I call myself “toxically positive.” These days I find a good degree of peace through gratitude and human connection. That said, my heart has been heavy as of late…

I'm very excited to announce “Thaw” has been released on raybaron.bandcamp.com for the not-so-hefty sum of $1.50. It can be expected on streaming platforms in the coming weeks.

I want to extend another thank you to my friends Izzy Burns…

I often talk about the role of collaboration in music. I also tend to point out that "solo artist" is generally a misnomer.

In the era of AI and extreme corner-cutting (or skill acquisition avoidance, as I call it), I…

Very recently, I was honored by a request to teach a songwriter's workshop in our region (stay tuned for that, Seattle-area folks). As I am mulling over possible formats for this, I find myself thinking more deeply about my own…

For me personally, if seeds were sown in 2024, they would germinate and become viable in 2025. As the year comes to a close I find myself looking back with deeply rooted gratitude: Gratitude for the incredible local communities that…

I have been thinking a lot lately about Artificial Intelligence, like most of you I imagine.

I don't have a particularly rosy outlook on it, especially as it applies to art and music creation.  I am going to do my…

Last week I sat down and recorded a stripped down acoustic couch take of a song that is very dear to me: “Loving Her Was Easier (than anything I'll ever do again)” by the late and great songwriter Kris Kristofferson…

I had a great time on the Indie Rock Catalog podcast this week with Levi. We covered a lot of ground: Returning to music after a long hiatus, support and help from unexpected places, overcoming fear, and the importance of…

Last Thursday I went to Temple of the Trees Studio in Seattle with bassist Fredy Andrés and drummer Kenneth Maldonado.  Temple of the Trees is arguably one of the most unique recording studios in the world, owned by Joe and…

I am excited to release “Strange Winds” to stream and download at raybaron.com.

It will be on streaming platforms in the coming weeks.

Huge thanks to the incredible artists that took it from a live couch take to a multi-layered…

About a year and a half ago, I fired up music again after a very long hiatus. I started it off with my proverbial hat in hand. This time around, I didn't want to go into it with grandiose plans…

It has been an incredible several months for music on multiple fronts. New songs have come forth like mini volcanic eruptions. Collaborations have also been fruitful, both with other songwriters as well as other instrumentalists. The downside (if there is…

What an honor the share the stage with such amazing songwriters and performers downtown yesterday. Huge thanks to Izzy Burns, Mano Chando (Eli) and Sam Cori for coming down and putting on such spectacular performances. I'm lucky to be surrounded…

Very happy to say I'll be hosting a songwriter showcase in downtown Seattle at the end of the month. I'll be lucky enough to share the stage with some very skilled and talented artists. Check out their bios below:

Izzy…

There have been some very exciting developments over the past several months: recording sessions, live performances and bookings, multiple new songs being written, amazing musical collaborations I've been lucky enough to have.

In light of all that I've decided to…

Very excited to re-release “The Wraith” with some new elements to it, in particular contributions by two of my favorite local artists: Jerry Battista (Of the Davanos) and Hannah Cody (AKA Captain Huckleberry). Jerry was kind enough to…

I had an amazing experience last week at Orbit Audio working with Robbie and one of his students. It really is a great recording space with great vibes.

In the coming weeks and months, recording will be front and center…

Just letting you all know I have recorded and released an acoustic take of “The Wraith," available for free both here as well as on raybaron.bandcamp.com. Huge thanks to Craig at MixCave Mastering for great work and an incredibly fast…

Pretty happy to say I booked some studio time at the acclaimed Orbit Studios in downtown Seattle next May. This will be the beginning of a no doubt longer journey of a studio album release, tentatively titled “Thaw.” The long…
