Very happy to say I'll be hosting a songwriter showcase in downtown Seattle at the end of the month. I'll be lucky enough to share the stage with some very skilled and talented artists. Check out their bios below:
Izzy Burns is an American folk-pop singer from Moscow, Idaho, who sings because she once couldn’t. Despite facing significant medical challenges early in life, including an emergency tracheostomy surgery that initially left her without a voice as a child for the first two years of her life, Izzy has defied the odds to become a talented musician and singer. After many surgeries and years of therapy she was able to not just speak, but sing and Izzy began to immerse herself in singing, playing guitar, and writing songs.
Her career took a pivotal turn when she sat on a plane next to Mellad Abeid, a guitar professor at Gonzaga University, who helped refine her songwriting and production skills. Izzy’s story of overcoming early life adversity to become a celebrated artist is a testament to her strength and dedication.
Her music, available on major streaming platforms, and reflects her deep passion and resilience.
I very recently heard Izzy perform at the Conor Byrne Pub song circle in Ballard (Seattle, WA) . I was extremely impressed with her original songwriting as well as singing and playing. She is a tremendous talent.
Sam Cori is an award-winning genre bending Singer/Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist, Audiobook Narrator and Voice Actor. She writes quirky, romantic, soulful, sexy music for the people of Tacoma, WA; fan favorites include “Douche Bag”, “Dad Bod”, “Oh, Lucy”, “Douche Bag the Sequel”, and “Moby Dick”. She recently opened for Crash Test Dummies at The Lincoln Theater, and won "Best Hip Hop Artist" and "Best Up and Coming Artist" in the Washington Independent Music Awards. Her song “Douche Bag” was recently chosen for the Autumn 2024 anthology of poetry of, about, or inspired by Tacoma, entitled “Voices of Tacoma: A Gathering of Poets”. Sam loves The Beatles and Gertrude Stein and can rap the entire periodic table of elements in under 40 seconds.
I first heard Sam on Instagram. Her originals are absolutely hilarious and lively, and she is a tremendous singer and player. Here is a very cool article on her as well.
Mano Chando is a philosophical surfer of diverse topics, weaving themes of Infinity and cosmology into driving acoustic tunes.
As a songwriter and composer, Chando's music has been featured on television and in films, including soundtrack placements in major film releases. Their music has been covered by various artists around the world, and has been featured on the official Starbucks playlist.
As a composer, Chando creates cinematic soundscapes with multi-instrumental motifs. As a performer, they strip their music down to acoustic guitar and resonant vocal melodies.
Mano Chando (AKA Eli / Tobias the Owl) I know personally from the Everett music scene. His music is emotive and lush with soundscapes. I'm very looking forward to performing with him.
I'm very much looking forward to this show! If you are in the area or can make the drive come on out!!
